Abstract

Energy Internet has emerged as a critical problem in the integrating of renewable energy such as solar, wind, and hydropower in smart cities. As a result, there are several varieties of sustainable energy and stakeholders, the system is enormously intricate, and certain basic issues, such as the management and administration of distributed sustainable energy aspects, are tough to achieve. Many of the issues that inhibit the Energy Internet's growth can be solved by applying the blockchain. This chapter provides an overview of the progression of blockchain as well as the Energy Internet, and some resources on the potential applications of blockchain inside the Energy Internet. To begin, a detailed explanation of the description and properties of blockchain and Energy Internet is provided. Second, the two's compatibility is examined. Following that, numerous blockchain application possibilities in Energy Internet are presented. Lastly, the difficulties that remain when adapting existing blockchain to smart cities are discussed.
