This chapter provides a summary of the data quality improvement methodology discussed in the book. It describes key concepts related to information quality, such as the Framework for Information Quality, the Information Life Cycle POSMAD (Plan, Obtain, Store and Share, Maintain, Apply, Dispose), and the data quality dimensions. The Ten Steps methodology describes the processes for implementing the key concepts of data quality in a project. Previous chapters of the book also discuss other ideas, techniques, and tools that help in information quality work in business projects. An understanding of these concepts and the methodology helps in knowing what information quality entails and its importance to a business. The methodology helps to understand the connections between data, processes, people and organizations, and technology. The methodology also demonstrates the importance of including communications in every step of the process, and helps to recognize the perception of those utilizing the information, build their awareness, and earn their confidence. The practical concepts, processes, and techniques presented in the book can be applied to any data or information that supports any part of an organization.
