Abstract

The chapter is devoted to defining and substantiating the role of the information component in economic security. The essence of the concept of «economic security» is defined. The modern and most relevant opinions of scientists on the definition of «economic security» are studied. The works of scientists who studied the components of economic security and information security as a component of economic security are analyzed. The essence of the concept of «information system» and the generalized classification of information systems on various grounds, which is supplemented by a sign on the degree of vulnerability of information systems. The main goals of information security, its objects and sources of threats are considered. The sequence of assessment of the information component of economic security is proposed. The processes used in the analysis of information security as a component of economic security are studied and the directions of increase of the level of information security as a component of economic security are offered. Four main approaches to the assessment of information risks are considered and a list of stages of the process of their management is formed.
