Abstract
“Storm” means a disorder about the weather and most weather events can result is a storm. Winter storm is a natural meteorological event which causes a change in life by disturbing or suspending the normal flow of daily life. Winter storms may cause significant troubles in the performance of public services like education, health, telecommunication and transportation and in entertainment. In this chapter, the effects of winter storms on the society will be revealed out first. Secondly, the disaster continuum will be demonstrated within the framework of damage reduction and recovery stages. Finally, the public health perspective will be reflected for the protection of the public against the effects and results of winter storms and for the improvement of the current conditions.
