Abstract

Today’s analytical, computing, and manufacturing automation technologies are very capable of supporting effective and profitable applications of multivariate analysis (MVA) in the pharmaceutical industry. However, these technologies in isolation cannot translate directly into successful MVA deployments in the industry, as there are a wide variety of challenges to confront. It can be argued that a holistic approach to MVA, where the MVA toolset and mindset is applied throughout the lifecycle of a project, rather than as an “add-on” feature at the end of a project, can effectively reduce or mitigate many of these challenges.
