Abstract
This chapter lists Chinese extra-large earthquakes (M≥8); introduces the seismic activities in China major seas, namely Bohai Sea, Yellow Sea, East China Sea, and South China Sea; discusses the basic requirements and content of the seismic safety evaluation of marine engineering sites as well as the history and present situation of seismic safety assessment of China offshore engineering sites; lists China's earthquake tsunami historical events; presents the method of numerical simulation of earthquake tsunami; and, finally introduces the domestic and foreign existing earthquake tsunami warning and forecasting system.
