Abstract

The involvement of nanoparticles are increasing in our day-to-day life, so does the production. Their release from the products into environment may pose issue for plant health. Although several studies have been conducted to find out the adverse or beneficiary impact of nanoparticles on plants, little is known about its mechanism of action. Genes are very important factor in biological system, and any changes in its expression directly influence the plant metabolism. Thus this chapter provides an overview of the works on the impact of nanoparticles on nucleic acids in plants, and present a mechanism of nanoparticle interaction. The chapter also tries to depict how nanoparticles may influence the cell signaling pathways in plants and deals with the idea that "how the plants genes may be impacted by several industrial nanoparticles”.
