Abstract

The TINI “Tiny Inter Net Interface,” microcontroller is a small computer that executes Java byte code and has in built Ethernet networking and interfaces for connecting many different types of hardware. This chapter focuses on installing the TINI classes and libraries, getting TINI up and running, and then getting the 1-Wire libraries installed and verified, so that one can control things from the desktop or the laptop computer. First, TINI is connected to a personal computer using the serial cable. Next, TINI Ethernet connector is connected to the LAN hub. The power supply is plugged in and connected to the TINI power connector. Lighting up of the “D1” LED indicates that TINI is switched on and that of “D4” LED indicates that it has a network connection. The final step is of loading the various pieces of software on a personal computer.
