Abstract
The main goal of this chapter is to show how properties and results from reliability theory can be used effectively for the study of waiting time distributions associated with binary and multistate start-up demonstration tests. Before establishing the connection between these two areas, we expect the readers to familiarize themselves with basic results from reliability theory, detailed earlier in preliminaries.
