Abstract

Shipping is starting to wake up towards the realization of its decarbonization ambitions and starting to query how this tentative future may look like and how does it arrive there. While the evidence is starting to build towards blue and green low/zero-carbon fuels, the infrastructure and supporting technologies are not still there. In the meantime, Energy Efficient Technologies and operational measures are needed to start transitioning towards a greener future. Through the 2020s key technologies and infrastructure needs to move from a simulation stage to real maritime solutions. And it is here where Waste Heat Recovery Systems and its ecosystem not only can support this transport sector but as well evolve with it to overcome future challenges and reduce barriers.
