Abstract
Abstract A system of advanced training for teachers, based at teacher training institutions, various teaching methods centers, and political education centers of local Party committees, was gradually created, developed, and improved during the prewar period in the Soviet Union. Republic, territorial, and regional courses and seminars devoted to the retraining of socialist educators, teachers' congresses and conferences, and pedagogical meetings were held each year.
