Abstract

Stainless steel is a member of iron from press-based amalgams with a decent erosion protection property. Because of this great quality, stainless steel plates are progressively utilized for building developments and kitchen hardware. Austenitic stainless steels are extraordinary compared to other choices of steels due to excellent mechanical properties. Because of low carbon rate in austenitic stainless steel, intergranular consumption can be controlled. The impacts of welding current and welding process on the mechanical properties of the welded joints were explored for all the three kinds of butt weld joint. Optical examinations were done on the weld zone, transition zone, and heat-affected zone in order to evaluate the impact of the welding parameters and procedure on the weld quality. Tungsten inert gas–metal inert gas (TIG–MIG) crossbreed weld at the current of 130/130A gave the most noteworthy ultimate tensile strength value of 672MPa at the welds zone. This outcome firmly showed that the hybridization of TIG and MIG give superior mechanical properties. The normal rate prolongation of 36.5% and 95% joint efficiency was found in sample F4. Stainless steel can be applicable in airplane fabrication, atomic industry, food processing, vehicle, and handling industries.
