Abstract

Among various nanocarriers, much attention has been paid to the nanotheranostics systems that offer simultaneous diagnosis and therapy as seamless platforms. These advanced nanosystems (NSs) have acquired importance continuously for medical treatments, especially for efficient treatment of various types of cancers. For the preparation of nanocarriers, polymeric NSs continue to gain more attention due to their facile and diverse preparation strategies, high drug-loading capacities, biocompatibility, and biodegradability. In this chapter, we will discuss polymeric nanotheranostics with special fucose on acrylate-based polymeric NSs. Based on their desired physicochemical properties, acrylate-based polymeric NSs can be functionalized with different moieties (e.g., targeting, imaging, radioisotopes, and fluorescent agents), and used as multifunctional nanomedicines/nanotheranostics.
