Abstract
Puerarin is an isoflavone glycoside derived from the extract of Radix Puerarie (Ge-gen) and widely used in traditional Chinese folk medicine. It has been suggested to exert important beneficial health effects, including estrogenic properties. However, it has also been shown to have major side effects. This chapter aims to provide knowledge about the general information about puerarin and its pharmacological and toxic effects on human health.
