Abstract

Recently an attempt has been made at Rothamsted to work out an optimum system of wheat production by identifying and measuring the effects of factors most critical for yield and which are under the grower's control. A combination of eight agronomic treatments and management practices were tested factorially to detect interactions. Each factor was tested at two levels, on land where potatoes had been grown the previous year.
