Abstract

In this chapter, we review the incidence and prevalence of the various types of Middle Cerebral Artery (MCA) aneurysms and their most common features and relevant anatomy. We discuss surveillance and nonoperative management options. The open surgical approach, techniques, and outcomes are described. Endovascular surgical options are then reviewed with their respective techniques and outcomes. Finally, hybrid approaches are discussed in the context of considerations afforded the dual trained neurosurgeon when approaching this most common location for intracranial aneurysms.
