Abstract
This chapter aims to explore the medication safety-related issues in Saudi Arabia, highlighting the current practices, identifying challenges, and offering recommendations to overcome the identified challenges in order to improve patient and medication safety. Saudi Arabia has a good medication safety system and there are great efforts from the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) to improve the medication safety practice over recent years. However, in order to move toward high-quality and excellence in medication safety practice, there are many challenges facing the medication safety practice in Saudi Arabia. More efforts from SFDA and support from policy makers, health-care professionals, universities, and health-care institutions are needed.
