Abstract

This chapter aims to explore the drug safety-related issues in India, highlighting present practices and reporting challenges and offering recommendations to improve the medication safety practice. It has been concluded that there are many challenges facing medication safety in India that are related to pharmacovigilance activities and adverse drug reaction reporting; medication error and its reporting, self-medication practices; counterfeit medicines; storage and disposal of medications. There is an urgent need to improve medication safety practice in India.
