Abstract

This chapter presents an optimal waveform selection algorithm for multistatic target tracking in a cluttered environment. Due to the false-alarm measurements caused by clutter, the exact track error covariance matrix is not available during the waveform selection process (i.e., prior to the actual waveform transmission). Therefore, an expected track error covariance matrix computed via the modified Riccati equation is exploited for waveform selection. Simulation examples corroborate the effectiveness of the presented waveform selection algorithm.
