Abstract
The chapter covers how rural women confront various hurdles during their life cycle and sacrifice their own life for the wellbeing of their family, community, and the overall productivity of a rural village system. The chapter begins with the issue of women’s rights and its justification for rural women. In this context, a series of world conferences and their resolutions are covered, with important facts and figures. Subsequent sections are devoted to explaining the life cycle vulnerability of rural women, mostly with reference to developing countries. The chapter ends with the most important issue of population aging and possible provision to make the life of elderly people comfortable and peaceful.
