Abstract

Oligodendrogliomas (ODGs) most frequently occur in adults and typically arise supratentorially located in the frontal lobes. ODGs less frequently occur in other infratentorial sites and rarely in other sites outside of the brain. This chapter serves to synthesize literature and case reports of these rare sites. Sites reviewed include tumors of the optic pathway, ciliary body, retina, pineal region, intraventricular region, posterior cranial fossa (brainstem, cerebellum, and cerebellopontine angle), spinal cord, leptomeningeal spread of tumor, as well as metastatic disease to extracranial/extraneural sites. Unusual presentations of OGDs with arteriovenous malformations are also discussed.
