Abstract

There are four main areas of focus for this chapter. We begin with identifying target behaviors, developing operational definitions, and working with stakeholders to determine a plan for support. The second section focuses on both continuous and discontinuous data collection systems with an emphasis on practicing a variety of data collection procedures to determine which system is appropriate based on the target behavior in question. The third area of focus is on practicing various forms of interobserver agreement based on the data collection system used. The final area of this chapter includes methods for practicing graphing in Excel with an emphasis on the appropriate visual display of data and graphing conventions within the field of behavior analysis.
