Abstract

Although light detection and ranging (LiDAR) normally provides high-precision target measurement, systematic or random errors inevitably exist in the data acquisition process and may lead to invalid data acquisition. This chapter provides a detailed introduction to the workflow and error sources in terrestrial, backpack, mobile, unmanned aerial vehicle, and airborne LiDAR systems to help users avoid inappropriate operations and systematic errors during data acquisition.
