Abstract
Interest in electrospinning has recently escalated due to the ability to produce materials with nanoscale properties. Electrospinning has been recognized as an efficient technique for the fabrication of polymer nanofibers. The parameters affecting electrospinning were very important to understand not only the nature of electrospinning but also the conversion of polymer solutions into nanofibers. A wide range of polymers can be fabricated into nanofibers to suit different applications. Nanofiber technology is an exciting area attracting the attention of many researchers as a potential solution to the current challenges in the biomedical field such as burn and wound care, organ repair, and treatment for cancer and various other diseases. In this chapter, we will present a concise introduction to the electrospinning technique and its biomedical applications.
