Abstract

An electroactive filtration system, combining membrane filtration with an electrochemical process, provides a promising solution toward effective wastewater treatment. This chapter summarizes the recent advances of the application of electroactive filtration systems, and the processes involving anodic oxidation (via reactive oxygen species or direct electron transfer) with the electro-Fenton process that occurs at the cathode surface. The working principle and performance of each system are briefly introduced.
