Abstract
The scope of the reliability theory is worldwide, and it has several applications across the areas such as aerospace, defense, electric power generation, transportations, and the medical sector. Reliability of any system or machine takes into account a significant proportion of long-term performance. The aim of this study is to get the availability and reliability of the gas turbine power plant and examine the effect of various failures while it is working. To study the upstate and downstate of the gas turbine power plant, its mathematical model using Markov process and supplementary variable has been developed with the consideration of sufficient repairs and failures. The time to failure and repair follow general time distribution. Finally, a numerical example is solved to illustrate the procedure, which clarifies the theoretical development for the practical utilization of gas turbine power plant.
