Abstract

This chapter gives an overview on the needs to develop new space safety technology and new space safety standards. It also discusses the necessities on developing space safety regulations. Monitoring, assessing, and creating measurement techniques for safety and performance play a vital part in space safety technology. It also gives an idea about different types of space launching systems such as the Tether systems and space elevator systems. Nuclear propulsion and electromagnetic propulsion are some of the new types of propulsions system in space technology. Considerable progress has been made in space safety technology in recent time. It gives one the idea that the future of space technology will depend upon newer approaches and on continuous human efforts. Design engineering, escape systems, and performance margins may assume greater importance in space safety technology in the future.
