Abstract

This chapter describes the basic principles, clinical applications, and most relevant future prospects for vascular CT imaging. CT angiography is the gold standard for both diagnostic and preprocedural imaging in occlusive and aneurysmal disease. Limitations and risks due to radiation and contrast toxicity are discussed relative to ultrasound, duplex, and magnetic resonance imaging. Intraoperative 3D image fusion has become almost indispensible for complex endovascular procedures.
