Abstract

Porous asphalt (PA) is one type of flexible mixture that is characterized by high total air voids content and placed on the surface of an asphalt pavement structure in a thin layer. In this study, porous asphalt mixture containing Nano Silica (NS) was used for predicting the resistance of rutting. The rutting resistance of NS-modified mixture was performed through the wheel-tracking equipment, which is known as Asphalt Pavement Analyzer. The percentage levels of NS used namely were 0%, 2%, and 4% (weight of the binder). The results indicated that the incorporating of NS on asphalt binder can enhance the performance of PA in terms of rutting resistance and lead to increase in the service life and quality of porous asphalt.
