Abstract
McMaster University Library (Hamilton, Canada) implemented the Balanced Scorecard as a strategic planning and performance management tool in 2009. The implementation process was time-consuming and resource intensive but ultimately the project was successful. The Library expects to maintain key elements of the Balanced Scorecard as it prepares to undertake another strategic planning cycle.
