Government responsibility and action is well defined in the United States in order to support the new blue economy, arising from domestic as well as international engagements. Many of the components that give rise to the new blue economy have been rooted in the science policy of the United States for decades and also have expanded to international organizations through evolution of other nations or by influence from those policies. The domestic set of policies and actions are positioned to enhance the new blue economy and are reflected similarly in the international community.
