Abstract

The First Community Credit Cooperative (FICCO) has been around for more than 60 years. From a school credit union confined within the campus of Ateneo de Cagayan (now Xavier University), it opened and grew its membership in the communities of Cagayan de Oro City in Misamis Oriental and in other parts of Mindanao, southern Philippines. Today, FICCO is a major player in the country’s credit sector and in the cooperative movement.
