Abstract

Among the various technologies, nanotechnology is considered as one of the most important technologies of the 21st century and plays a key role in the cosmetics industry. Various nanoscale versions of ingredients are used by cosmetics manufacturers to ensure better UV protection, deeper skin penetration, long-lasting effects, increased color and finish quality, etc. The nanotechnology-enabled cosmetics formulations include a huge global market with investment of millions of dollars by cosmetic manufacturers. This widespread use of nanoscale materials in cosmetics is due to the fact that these nanoparticles have properties that differ from the large-scale particles. These altered properties include color, transparency, solubility, and chemical reactivity, making nanomaterials attractive to the cosmetics and personal care industries.
