Inverse gas chromatography (IGC) is presented as a technique useful for characterization of both surface and bulk properties of various materials within the wide range of temperature and humidity. The advantages and drawbacks of this technique are discussed. The application of IGC for characterization polymers, their blends, minerals, modified fillers, fibers, and pharmaceutical powders is presented.
