Abstract
This chapter is devoted to quantum mechanics fundamentals. The following topics from quantum mechanics are covered: state vectors, operators, density operators, measurements, and dynamics of a quantum system. In addition, we describe harmonic oscillators, orbital angular momentum, spin-1/2 systems, and hydrogen-like systems. These systems are of high importance in various quantum information processing systems and in quantum communications.
