Abstract
The molecular structure and molecular weight (Mw) of polymers play a critical role in their properties. In this chapter, the primary, secondary, and tertiary structure of polymers is introduced and their influence on the properties is briefly discussed. Furthermore, the method of determining the number, average molar weight (Mn), average molecular weight (Mw), and polydispersity index (PDI) of the polymer are discussed. The effect of Mw on the properties of polymers is briefly described.
