Abstract
Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) are found to exhibit such a perfect combination of remarkable mechanical, thermal, chemical, and electronic properties, they are able to generate a series of huge activities. This chapter comprehensively introduces experimental tools in preparing and testing CNTs. Due to the rapid developments of nanotechnology, an extremely wide range of promising applications, including electronics, optical communications, and biological systems, are proposed. Several representative examples, i.e., composite materials, coatings and films, microelectronics, energy storage and environment, biotechnology, are selected to illustrate the possibilities of CNTs in device fabrication and application.
