Abstract

Dentistry is still largely based on the principle of the inverted evidence pyramid. Case series and biologic plausibility, the lowest levels of evidence, often rule the day. Randomized trials, the highest level of evidence, frequently remain ignored. This chapter offers some critical thinking guidelines on how to evaluate information so that the best evidence can guide your clinical decision making.
