Abstract

Organic synthesis as state of art is concerned with the planned construction of organic compounds. Organic synthesis is recognized as the most important branches of organic chemistry. There are several foremost expertise of research within the general area of organic synthesis, such as total synthesis, semi-synthesis, and methodology. Ranging from the apparently simple to potential Nobel-winning transformations, every organic chemist has a list of properties they wished existed in their contemplated synthetic approaches. Those are being highly effective, facile, powerful, atom-economical, extremely selective and being performed under secured mild reaction conditions and of course, complying the Green Chemistry Principles. On the other hand, cycloaddition reactions are certainly closest organic reactions to the brain and heart of virtually all synthetic organic chemists. In this chapter, we try to follow and cover, the total synthesis of alkaloids using Diels-Alder cycloaddition reaction.
