Abstract

This chapter covers tumors of the adrenal glands, both primary and metastatic. This topic—tumors of the adrenal gland—is vast in scope, and space limitations herein do not permit in-depth consideration of each entity. A working knowledge of normal anatomy of the adrenal gland, both gross and microscopic, is also helpful in considering neoplasms of cortex and medulla. A variety of rare mesenchymal neoplasms also occur and include tumors of vascular, smooth muscle, and peripheral nerve sheath origin.
