Abstract

In this chapter, we introduce family-based treatment (FBT) for adolescent eating disorders, with a focus on the three phases of the intervention as well as its core principles and techniques. Adaptations of FBT with regard to modifying the delivery system to levels of care, populations, and modalities will also be reviewed. We conclude by discussing future directions for research and clinical practice.
