Abstract
The present industrial and social world is at a deficit of more than trillions of dollars, which has been caused by the corroding industrial equipment, bridges, railway tracks, etc. Being already at a loss caused by corrosion it is always important to estimate the price of preventive strategies. Metal oxides might be used as corrosion inhibitors in the form of nanoparticles or other additives. While lanthanides are themselves costly the nanoparticles of any metal oxide like transition metals is never inexpensive to obtain. As such it is necessary to study the commercial and economic aspects of using metal oxides as corrosion inhibitors. It is important to assure whether using metal oxides as corrosion inhibitor is cost effective or not.
