Abstract
Gastroenterology has historically been a male-dominated field, with a relatively low percentage of women pursuing gastroenterology fellowships and leadership roles. However, in recent years, there has been a notable rise in female representation, particularly within leadership positions across gastroenterology and hepatology societies in the United States. This shift highlights the increasing importance of diversity and the significant impact of female leadership in shaping the future of the field. In this piece, we share the perspectives and reflections of female leaders within the NYSGE, inspiring young women aspiring to build their careers in gastroenterology, while promoting inclusivity for all.
