Abstract
Increasing attention to anti-corrosion and scratch-resistance coatings led to using selective metal oxides to improve abrasion properties of polymeric coatings. Protection of metals and alloys using polymeric coatings is the commercial and acceptable method for improving lifetime of metals and providing scratch-resistance coating based on the formation of new cross-links between polymer chains of coating and metal substrate. Metal oxides such as SiO2, TiO2, ZrO2, Al2O3, graphene oxide, zeolite, and magnesium may be incorporated into polymeric chains via direct or indirect addition methods. By the formation of new cross-links, chains movement is restricted and protective responsibility is seen. In the work, various metal oxides which can be used for scratch protection of metals via coating have been investigated.
