Abstract

This chapter is concerned with the entrepreneurship and financial sector in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It deals with the issues of specificity of conducting business activity in the UAE and provides market strength, weakness, opportunity, and threat analysis. Foreign investors’ business perspectives, as well as business legal issues, are discussed. Moreover, characteristics of the UAE financial sector and financing opportunities in the UAE—the most common sources of financing business activity, as well as public policy toward enterprises—are taken into consideration. Finally, examples of Polish business ventures in the UAE, their experiences, and concerns related to the legal and contractual issues are presented.
