Abstract

The idea of quick digitization of old astronomical photographic archives was faced with a lack of technical means to qualitatively complete this task while maintaining the highest possible accuracy of the observational material. Flatbed commercial scanners became the solution to the problem. Design features of scanners, which are a source of additional errors, required the development of special algorithms for processing digitized data that take into account the specificity of digitizers. These algorithms allow one to take into account and eliminate errors associated with the scanning process, at the stage of preliminary processing of digitized images using only the data of the digitized image itself. An example of such an algorithm used at the preliminary stage of processing the digitized image of a plate of a wide-angle astrograph is given.
