Abstract

This chapter focuses on long-term heat exposure of the properties of fluoropolymers. Chemical structures with effects of heat aging, common stabilizers, manufacturers, and trade names along with typical end uses of the plastics are included besides extensive tabular and graphical physical, mechanical, electrical, and thermal properties before and after exposure heat. Plastics included in this section are the several types of polytetrafluoroethylene, fluorinated ethylene propylene, perfluoroalkoxy, polyvinyl fluoride, polychlorotrifluoroethylene, polyvinylidene fluoride, ethylene–tetrafluoroethylene copolymer, and ethylene–chlorotrifluoroethylene copolymer.
