Abstract

A family of catalysts known as “enzyme mimics” or “artificial enzymes” has been the subject of extensive research for many years and has generated a great deal of interest as potential replacements for real enzymes. In addition to having catalytic activity that is on similarity with that of their natural equivalents, mimics of enzymes also require the desirable benefits of adaptable architectures and high catalytic efficiency, great acceptance to various conditions of experiments, cheaper, and fully artificially synthesis methods, although much work needs to be done in this area. Enzyme mimics hold great promise for developing detecting and systems of antibiofouling, creating medicines, clean fuels, and catalyzing chemical and biological interactions. The production, catalytic properties, and technological applications of polymeric, nanoparticulate, dendrimer, mimics of enzymes, and supramolecules are covered in this chapter. To encourage scientists to modify the method and production of mimics of various enzymes and modify the functioning in various variety and applications, it offers an overview to mimicry of enzyme as well as a detailed description of their developments and present uses.
