Abstract

Microbial cellulase has been continuously in demand in recent times due to its applicability in bioconversion of biofuels in the form of biogas, ethanol, and many more. Due to production, these biofuels could prevent large consumption of nonrenewable resources and save the environment for future generation. The production of biogas through the medium appears to be very effective, even though its efficacy is insufficient due to the inflexible property of plant cells. Therefore, the application of cellulose is extended commercially. The lignocellulosic biomass attributed the formation of biofuels and biochemicals through the biofilling method and required efficacious pretreatment and cellulase enzymes to enhance the values. In addition, cellulase undergoes anaerobic digestion process to produce biofuels. Advances in digestion methods attributed the formation of a wide variety of fuels. This chapter will cover the diversity of microbial cellulase enzymes and their associated resources as well as the production of specific types of fuels that are commercially available.
