Abstract

Rosenberg, a professor of history at the University of Pennsylvania, is the author of a number of books on the nineteenth century. In this paper we get the perspective of an historian, who emphasizes different points than those of sociologists and economists. He examines the relationship between knowledge and society, suggesting what future scholars will be looking at. The value of Rosenberg's paper is to point out how the subject of knowledge management remains a relatively new field of study and experience.
